HID Kit Bulbs – Worlds Beyond Halogen    

The bulbs of an HID kit are filled with a gas called Xenon. The xenon used in HID kits produces a blue-white light that is close to the color temperature of natural sunlight, making driving more comfortable. The bulbs of HID kits produce light through a small airtight quartz capsule that is filled with xenon, mercury, and metal halide salts.

Because the bulbs of HID kits do not have filaments like standard halogen bulbs, they are far les prone to breaking due to road vibrations, etc. The quartz capsule of the bulbs in HID kits uses far less wattage than a standard halogen bulb (usually around 35) but requires ballasts to supply and amplify the electricity that ignites the xenon within the capsule.

The Ballasts Of HID Kits – The Key Component Of HID Kits

The ballasts of the HID kit are the component that provides the bulbs with energy. The better the ballasts of HID kits, the better their lighting performance will be! The Ballasts of HID kits regulate the flow of electrical current to the bulbs to provide for a high intensity, uninterrupted beam. This gives HID kits efficiency in not only power consumption, but also duration of the life of bulbs.

Ballasts are designed per HID kit based on bulb and sometimes vehicle type and cannot be interchanged on other HID kits. The ballasts in HID kits require superior electronic circuitry to function. This circuitry must also be weatherproofed to make HID kits withstand the elements and harsh conditions we sometimes drive in! Because of the innovation behind a good ballast, the cost of good HID kits is above those manufactured cheaply.
